On August 2nd, 2017, the Akimat of Mangystau Oblast and BeltWay - SafBon Consortium with its local partner Astana Kyzmet-KZ LLP signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Construction of a Seawater Desalination Plant in Mangystau Oblast in Almaty. H.E. Mr. Yeraly Tugzhanov, the Akim of Mangystau Oblast, Mr. Ali Mohamad, the CEO of BeltWay Group Limited, Mr. Wang Xian, the General Manager of SafBon Water Service (Holding) Inc., Shanghai and Mr. Bolat Ydyrysbayev, the Executive Director of Astana Kyzmet-KZ LLP presented and signed on the MoU.
The Seawater Desalination Plant (the 'Plant') in Mangystau Oblast is an open bidding project of the Akimat of Mangystau Oblast. BeltWay - SafBon Consortium is the only bidder qualified from the pre-qualification organized by the Akimat. Now the Consortium begins to negotiate with the Akimat on technical and commercial details of the Plant.
The Plant will be located off the shore of Caspian Sea near the city of Aktau, Mangystau for the purpose of supplying domestic water for local residents and industrial water for the factories nearby with a designed capacity of 50,000 m3 per day. The Plant is a turn-key project with financing and it is estimated that the Consortium will invest around 250 million US$.
