Construction of the Seawater Desalination Plant in Kazakhstan Commenced

The groundbreaking ceremony of the Seawater Desalination Plant in Mangystau, Kazakhstan was held in Kuryk, Aktau on May 1st 2018. Primary officials from the Akimat of Mangystau Oblast and representatives from BeltWay and SafBon presented at the ceremony.

H.E. Mr. Yeraly Tugzhanov, the Akim of Mangystau Oblast, addressed a speech, welcomed and supported BeltWay - SafBon Consortium to invest and build the seawater desalination plant.

The designed capacity of seawater desalination plant is 50,000 m3/day with the updated process of Dissolved Air Floatation plus Ceramic Flat Ultrafiltration Membrane plus Two-pass Reverse Osmosis. The plant will supply potable and domestic water to relieve pressure on local freshwater supply.
